Summer is not here
How depressing. Right now I should be tanning myself on a beach drinking cocktails and playing beach volleyball.
But it’s raining. Hard. And I’m stuck inside.
Christmas was fun, we spent Christmas Eve at my parents – even though we have our own place. My siblings and I have this tradition where we open one gift the night before. The most exciting thing is waking up in the morning feeling the present filled Christmas Sack on your legs – Mum and Dad continued to do this year after year, long after believing in Santa. They did it this year too :)
Christmas Day was busy, we went to Brads mum’s for a long lunch and then back to my parents for a big dinner with 25 friends and family, where we played croquet, drank in the sun (thank god for the good weather that day!) and finished off the evening with a game of Charades.

We then spent the next four days at their house where I finished TWO books! The first called ‘My Name Is Memory’ and the second was Lance Armstrong’s biography – which gave me a whole new appreciation for cycling. I highly recommend both.
Exercise took a back seat, but I spend an hour at the gym yesterday working my butt off which felt good. I haven’t been for a run in 5 days and I feel like shit, but I really hate running in the rain and treadmills are boring.
I’ve started another book too, which I ordered online and then received today. It came recommended by Brads father who lost 6kgs in 2 weeks after reading and applying the rules in the book. It’s called ‘The Sweet Poison Quit Plan’ by David Gillespie.
It’s a fact we all consume too much sugar, but the reality is it’s difficult to avoid (just look at my previous post!). I’m excited to read this book, apparently giving up sugar is harder to do then giving up cigarettes.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has read this book and how they found it. I’ll post my own review/experience once I’ve read it too.

Sounds as if you had a lovely Christmas
